Ekalavya Khelkood – 2011-12

“Let’s visit the event to see skills of our Vanavasi (tribal) brothers and sisters. “

About the event

Ekalavya Khelkood is a highly popular event organized by Vanavasi Kalyan Ashram since 1987 to spot hidden sports talent among tribal youth. With over 2,500 participants; Khelkood is a National sports festival for Vanavasis as a showcase to demonstrate their talent in sports.

On a societal level the event brings diverse communities together and has been pivotal in strengthening the bond of brotherhood amongst tribal communities. The National sports festival, “bridging a gap between tribal community with rest of the Indian people” has been instrumental in nurturing god given gifts like hardiness, tenacity etc. amongst tribal youth.
