Mysore celebrates Vivekananda’s 150th Birth Anniversary

Mysore: Swami Vivekananda 150th Anniversary Celebration Committee, Mysore Vibagh, had organised a Colourful procession starting from Niranjan Math at Narayan Sastry Road passing through Ramaswamy Circle and culminated on Sarada Vilas Law College Grounds for the stage programme. Incidentally, Swami Vivekananda stayed at Niranjan Math during his visit to Mysore Palace.

About 6000 Young boys and girls participated in the procession and the ensuing programme. Sri Su Ramanna delivered the Key-note Address and Sri S A Ramdas was the Chief Guest and Swami Muktidanandaji Maharaj presided over the function. The other dignatoies were Dr K Chidananda Gowda, former vice-chancellor of Kuvempu University and Vice-President of the State Celebration Committee,  Committee Members Sri K B Ganapathy, Editor in Chief, Star of Mysore and Mysooru Mitra News papers and Sri A Viswanath, Cheatered Accountant, Distinguished guests Dr Susheela Seshadri, Principal, Amrita School of Education, Manya Venkataram, Pranth Sangachalak of RSS, Dr Bapat, Vibagh Sangachalak of RSS were present. The programme ended with a ‘Nrithya Rupaka’ on Swami Vivekananda by College Students. Food were served at the end of the programme.
