RSS celebrates Independence Day, Sarasnghachalak Bhagwat hoists national flag at RSS birthplace of Nagpur

 New Delhi/Nagpur/Bangalore Aug 15: Rashtreeya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) celebrated 68th Independence Day across the nation, swayamsevaks saluted the national flag wherever they attended the Independence Day ceremony.

RSS Sarasanghachalak Mohan Bhagwat hoisted the national flag at Dr Hedgewar Bhavannear Mohitewada maidan, at Mahal, Nagpur. Significantly, Mohitewada is the birth Place of RSS, where RSS was founded in 1925 by Dr Keshav Baliram Hedgewar.

In his brief speech on Independence day, Mohan Bhagwat said, “The sacrifices made and the hard work on the basis of which we got independence, even the world is astonished at times, that we still are independent in spite of all the difficulties that we face as a nation. I wish that the glimpses of the sacrifices made and the hard work enlightens our nation.”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi became the second RSS Swayamsevak to hoist national flag at Red Fort and to address the nation as Prime Minister after Atal Bihari Vajapeyee.

RSS top functionaries Dr Manmohan Vaidya, J Nandakumar attended Independence Ceremony at Red Fort, along with few other prominent Sanghparivar leaders.

RSS Sahsarakaryavah Dattatreya Hosabale attended a program at Sambalpur in Odisha.

Rashtrotthana Parishat’s General Secretary N Dinesh Hegde hoisted Flag at KESHAVASHILPA, Bangalore.
