Bangalore Jan 5, 2012: Nagpur Municipal Corporation organised a Skating Rally from Kanyakumari to Nagpur in commemoration with Swami Vivekananda 150th Birth Anniversary Celebrations with the motto “Nation Development through Character”. Lead by Sri Dayashankar Tiwari, Standing Committee Chairman of Nagpur Municipal Corporation, the rally which covers 1947 KMs was inaugurated on 2nd January 2013 & reached Bangalore on evening of 4th January 2013 passing through Madhurai & Salem.
On 5th January 2013 morning rally began its 4th day’s journey from the premises of Rashtrottana Parishat, Chamarajpet in Bangalore. The team comprises nearly 50 people in which 23 people are skaters.
